Bookkeeping and Accounting

Bookkeeping and accounting is the process of recording the value of assets and income on one hand, and liabilities and expenses on the other.
Credit and debit entries are chronologically posted to record changes in value in daybooks, journals and ledgers.

Under the current self assessment regime facing both individuals and companies, adequate records are required to satisfy the statutory demands of the Revenue and Customs & Excise. Penalties for inadequate records can be harsh.

A proper organised book-keeping system will enable you to free resources for other activities as well as give you peace of mind that your legal obligations are being met.

Bookkeeping is especially relevant when clients have to report to debtors and/or creditors or they aim to provide the financial information to help management with decision making.

Accounting is the system of recording, verifying and reporting credit and debit information.
We can save you time and money employing your own bookkeeping staff and deal with all aspects of your bookkeeping and accounting.
We can prepare your management accounts, and help you interpret the information provided for you to use this to develop your business coherently.

The cost of employing a skilled individual to fulfil this role can be expensive with no guarantees as to their ability to fulfil this requirement.

Here at Ratnam & Co we offer a regular book-keeping service. This can be carried out as frequently as required and can be either at your premises or at our offices
